FINALLY! some sunshine...

Or at least it stopped raining.

We'd been hoping the weather would smarten up in time for us to take Dad on the gondola (same one we'd taken mom on), and on Tuesday it did. Funnily enough (sort of) the typhoon had created a mud slide situation around one of the support towers (we could see a bunch of people surveying the slide path as we cruised above them in the gondola car) and the very next day (after an outcry from people) it was closed down for a month for inspection. It didn't look like a big deal from our view but apparently the cement base was only half on solid ground. Glad we went, but probably good we didn't know too much information (we wondered why we were the only ones in line...eeks, and with a toddler, baby, and a senior citizen [hehe]).

Yesterday Dad and I took the boys to SYS Memorial Hall. It's a great place for Atticus to run around with his bat and ball, and there's really good ice cream nearby!

We also met up with Atti's best little buddy, Hunter, at the sand pit. Last week Atticus said 'hi' to the other children by going up to them and doing 'down dog', this week he spiced it up by doing 'down dog' with one leg up in the air. He also went up to a little girl and, after he did the one leg up in the air thing, said a really big and clear, 'Hi!". When she didn't respond he took her arm and waved it at himself.

Atticus has become a big soother stealer. He never used one when he was little, but has now decided it's a wonderful thing and will take Dillon's out of his mouth and say, 'oops', and put it in his own mouth. I won't let him go to sleep with it or become attached to it as I'm not a fan of kids that can walk  using one. Not sure if Dillon is crying here because he's being squished or because he'd been mugged.

We got up early today to take Dad to the beach we always go to. The last time we went it was half covered in garbage from the previous typhoon, this time we went it was completely COMPLETELY covered in garbage from this last typhoon. Just before we got to the beach Atticus barfed at least for consecutive times all over himself (car sick) in his car seat. It was just like you'd see on some B rated horror flick; just spewed out in tubular form. Funny thing was his expression was like he was just hanging out, didn't change at all. We hauled him out of the truck and stripped him down and he had to wear his swim trunks and no shirt the rest of the afternoon. And WOW did our truck stink like sour nasty milk. I'm sure he barfed up at least a litre of curdled milk.

We ended up having waffles and coffee at a little cafe along the ocean. It was cool and overcast, but a really nice view (no garbage).

And that's it folks!
